In 1918 with World War I raging in Europe a silent deadly killer traveled with the U.S. soldiers to the war in Europe. America’s deadliest epidemic killed more persons than soldiers who died from fighting. As quickly as the virus spread it vanished in early 1919. Many genealogical and historical records document our ancestors who died or survived one of the deadliest episodes of recent memory.
