California Genealogical Research: Past and Present

Presenter: Sheila Benedict

California is a melting pot of ethnicities, religions, lifestyles, and economies. Long before statehood in 1850, there were the native people, explorations, then Spanish and Mexican rule, and pioneers from everywhere. The Gold Rush, Civil War, land grants, transcontinental railroad, and S.F. Earthquake are just some of the events that shaped California history, then and now.
